Additions

Following this strange dream I had about Shinrin outdoors, I decided to gather some other materials from the garden to take in and photograph within the installation. Lead, leaves…. and a bit of an Ikebana feel I think, whilst the scattered leaves are a little nod to Mr Boyce.

Dreams or nightmares?

Cambin in mind perhaps?

Awaking… what a challenging night it has been. The Shinrin outdoor photo shoot. Looked great at Honister. Proved too difficult to install near Skelwirth because of rain but was wonderful to behold up on the moors in spite of a strong breeze.

Evaluation

As expressed in my project proposal, my aim was “To develop work through a contemporary lens on ‘the sublime’ evoking a sense of place designed to achieve a specified impact – a sense of calm and well-being.”

In order to assist in the evaluation of whether this has been achieved, I have mounted a ‘Shinrin Yoku’ page on facebook Shinrin Yoku@lowforceartblog where there is now a poll, gathering responses to the work.

  1. More cleaning and tidying around other areas of the studio.
  2. Improving the crates.
  3. Photographing Shinrin: various angles, different lights etc.
