Barcelona Book #1

Busy, busy, busy, since return from Barcelona. Straight into St. Patrick’s gig. Then, didn’t even un-pack before heading off to CHWA conference! The next week, preparing for x-group crits., a trip to Preston University (beginning to check out possible future routes) AND Hubby being taken into hospital. All a bit much really!!!Eventually, now managing to assimilate Barcelona and get on with ‘a book’.

Stealing things

Three steals in competition/consideration at the minute as inspiration for installation piece:

1. Floating/upside down mobile technology – after Lorenzo Cambin exhibition seen in Ambit Gallery. Supporting Shinrin Yoku pieces from below may be practically better than trying to ‘hang’ them (as in the first experiments) because this would be more adaptable to different spaces.

2. Screen type structures are a consideration – thought of this after seeing Frederic Vidal’s screens in MNAC exhibition. Might allow for interesting through lighting.

3. Cut-out ‘hidden’ motifs (inspired by Sarah Casey’s ‘Drawn To The Surface’ pieces).  The holes allow for manipulating light effects and interactivity as movement past elements changes the visual appearance.
